IN A week where his club will face both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, Buhle Mkhwanazi of Bidvest Wits has described these matches as ordinary, even comparing these assignments to playing against either Baroka or Golden Arrows.

Wits open their 2016/2017 Absa Premiership campaign against Chiefs at Bidvest Stadium tomorrow (7.30pm) - a side they lost twice to last season - before taking on Pirates in the MTN8 quarterfinal on Saturday.

Boasting one of the best teams in the PSL, last season's runners-up are eager to send out a strong message as early as the first game by beating Amakhosi.

"I would not say those games are tough. Chiefs, Pirates, Sundowns and Wits can be grouped into one. You can put Wits with whoever is big in the league. There's quality in all these teams," Mkhwanazi said.

"So for us those games will be ordinary games, like playing Baroka or Golden Arrows. It's important to get a result against Chiefs to carry us through the season."

While the league title is a top priority, Mkhwanazi said the Clever Boys would be satisfied with any trophy.

Wits are desperate to win silverware to make up for not winning anything in the last three seasons.

" Sundowns did well last season, but it's a new beginning for every club. We've made a lot of quality signings in crucial positions. I believe we have a well balanced team. "
