Moolman happy with top 10 in road race

South African Olympic cyclist Ashleigh Moolman was content with a 10th-place finish in the Women's Road Race event on Sunday.

The 30-year-old from Pretoria posted a time of 3:52:41, finishing one minute and 14 seconds behind gold-medalist Anna van der Bruggen of the Netherlands.

"I'm happy with a top 10," Moolman said. "Disappointed not to get a medal but I have another go in the time trial on Wednesday and I'll do my best."

Emma Johansson of Sweden and Italian Elisa Longo Borghini took the silver and bronze medals respectively, while Moolman's teammate An-Li Kachelhoffer finished 39th.

The South African will now look to improve on that showing in the time trial on Wednesday the 10th.
