Kolisi to miss Springboks' Rugby Championship campaign

The Stormers’ Super Rugby campaign is over but the news for Springbok coach Allister Coetzee is not good either.

Flank Siya Kolisi will be out of action for at least three months after sustaining an ankle injury while playing against the Chiefs at Newlands on Saturday an insider confirmed.

Kolisi went down in the fourth minute of the quarterfinal and was assisted off the field.

The Stormers lost the match 60-21.

The 25-year-old Kolisi started all three Tests against Ireland in June and he would have been the likely blindside flank starter for the Bok in the Rugby Championship.

On Saturday veteran looseforward Schalk Burger confirmed he is out of the running for a Bok berth for the time being‚ preferring to focus on his new challenge at Saracens.

He stopped short of announcing his Test retirement though.
