Bloemfontein Celtic coach Serame Letsoaka says he is delighted that the dust has finally settled around the potential departures of Thapelo Morena and Lyle Lakay and that the pair are committed to the club’s cause for the coming season.

“Everything is now settled and that means we can get on with our preparation. I’m very pleased we can now focus on the tasks at hand‚” he said on Wednesday during a break in the club’s intensive pre-season preparations.

Speedy Morena‚ 22‚ had been openly coveted by Kaizer Chiefs‚ whose coach Steve Komphela made no bones about wanting to lure the winger away to Naturena.

But Celtic have made clear there is going to be no movement‚ pointing out that Morena is still under contract with the club until 2019.

Celtic chief executive officer Khumbulani Konco also took the opportunity to dismiss reports Morena has signed a new three year deal.

The 24-year-old Lakay‚ who is also part of the pacy make up that Letsoaka is putting together at Celtic‚ had been linked with a possible move to Bidvest Wits.

Letsoaka confirmed on Wednesday that there had been talks but a swap deal with the Johannesburg club did not materialise.

“I did not want to lose either of them‚” added Letsoaka‚ whose club have added seven new signings for the upcoming season.

Morena is currently training with the under-23 squad after being named as an alternate player for the squad that is heading to compete at the men’s football tournament at the Rio Olympics.
