Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Lucky Nguzana is on trial at newly-promoted Turkish top-flight side Karabükspor‚ Times Media Digital can reveal.

His National First Division side FC Cape Town‚ who have been excitedly trumpeted the 25-year-old as the best striker in South Africa on social media‚ confirmed this week he was headed to Europe for trials.

But they did not reveal where he was going‚ other than to say it was a “big European team”.

Times Media Digital has since discovered he is at Karabükspor‚ hoping to become the latest South African to feature in the Turkish league.

According to club representative Bevan Dicks‚ who has travelled with Nguzana‚ he has made a good first impression at the Turkish side.

Karabükspor won promotion to the top-flight last season after finishing runners-up in the second division‚ having been relegated the season before.

Nguzana has long been thought of as a player with talent‚ but has failed to deliver consistently on the big stage.

After leaving Sundowns‚ he had spells with Lamontville Golden Arrows‚ AmaZulu and Platinum Stars‚ but made just 13 league starts in three seasons for those teams.

But he scored six goals in as many starts in the NFD last season‚ earning him a trial in Turkey.
