Pitso Mosimane will not hold a grudge against captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele if he were to leave Mamelodi Sundowns for Kaizer Chiefs, but the coach has called for clubs not to leave contract negotiations till the last minute.

Mphahlele is being offered about R40000 more than he is getting at the moment at Sundowns, who are reluctant to match the offer for their captain.

Mphahlele, who revealed that Sundowns have dragged their feet over offering him a new deal, is almost certain to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the month.

"We need Rama. I'd love Rama to stay, but that issue is beyond me. That's up to Rama, the management and his agent," Mosimane said yesterday.

"Contracts should not be left till late. Long negotiations are not good for both parties," he added.
