Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs defender Erick Mathoho survived a car hijacking in Pretoria on Monday evening.
It is alleged that the 25 year-old central defender Mathoho and his two siblings were held up at gunpoint and no one was injured.
The player’s agent Tim Sukazi confirmed to Sowetan LIVE that the solid defender had his car stolen by the three men who are still on the loose.
"Yes it is true Eric Mathoho was robbed together with his brother at gunpoint. They were approached by three gun men," Sukazi said.
"They took all their personal belongings and no one was hurt."
Chiefs spokesman Vina Maphosa was not available for comment.
