Cops escort Pitso from angry Sundowns fans

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane had to be escorted out of the stadium by police, with supporters baying for his blood after a 2-1 defeat by Golden Arrows at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday.

Mosimane had said before the game that most of his international players were out to serve their respective countries while Arrows players had enough time to rest.

However, this was Sundowns’ second loss in a row after a 1-0 defeat by Mpumalanga Black Aces a week ago at Mbombela Stadium.

Well organised Arrows’ strikers Mabhuti Khenyeza and new signing Ryan Chapman capitalised on tired Downs who had about 14 of their players away on international duties.

"The life of international football can be like this, having none of your players fresh while the opposition doesn’t have internationals," Mosimane quoted telling Daily Sun.

"Some of my players’ legs couldn’t carry them any longer in the game. Keagan Dolly could not handle it, travelling all over Africa, Khama Billiat didn’t have the legs.

"We might have lost Khama for the next three or four weeks, I don’t know the extent of the injury, but Fiston Abdul Razak is also injured," he said.

"We are in the rebuilding process. We haven’t reached the level we want yet."
