Former Springbok rugby captain Francois Pienaar is to feature on tickets for the 2015 Rugby World Cup to be held in England in September and October.

He is one of four winning Rugby World Cup captains whose image will be featured on the tickets‚ the others being John Eales (Australia)‚ Martin Johnson (England) and Richie McCaw (New Zealand).

Their images are part of one of five variations of designs depicting the rich history of rugby that will feature the Webb Ellis Cup in the centre. Pienaar captained the 1995 Springbok side that clinched the world cup with a 15-12 victory against New Zealand at Johannesburg’s Ellis Park stadium.

Tickets for the final of the 2015 World Cup will have a special design featuring former England flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson‚ who sealed England’s win in the 2003 world cup tournament with a dramatic drop goal in Sydney‚ where they beat hosts Australia 20-17.

On being featured on the ticket design‚ Pienaar‚ said: “Our victory in 1995 was a significant moment in South African history and it is an honour that 20 years on it has been captured on the tickets for Rugby World Cup 2015. Having played and lived in England during my career‚ I have no doubt it will be a great tournament and our fans are set to be part of a celebration of rugby.”

South Africa will be in pool B alongside Japan‚ Samoa‚ USA and Scotland. Their fixtures will be as follows:

•South Africa v Japan at Brighton Community Stadium on Saturday September 19

•South Africa v Samoa at Villa Park‚ Birmingham on Saturday September 26

•South Africa v Scotland at St James’ Park‚ Newcastle on Saturday October 3

•South Africa v USA at The Stadium‚ Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park‚ London on Wednesday October 7
