Siyanda Xulu moved closer to an exit from FC Rostov at the weekend when he was not included in the match day squad for the Russian Premier League side in their crucial clash with CSKA Moscow.

The 1-1 draw means Rostov will now compete in the relegation play-offs, but likely without Xulu, who has been agitating for an exit in the past few months.

Xulu is hoping to return to the PSL.

Daylon Claasen was an unused substitute as his German Bundesliga II side 1860 Munich played to a 0-0 draw with third- tier Holstein Kiel in the first leg of their relegation play-off tie.

Claasen's club will now feel they have the advantage with the second leg to come at home tomorrow.

The match is of crucial importance to Claasen, who is unlikely to see out his three-year contract at the club should they be relegated to the third division in Germany.

Midfielder May Mahlangu's frustrating time with injuries continued at the weekend when he missed out for Turkish side Konyaspor as they drew 1-1 at Bursaspor.

It was the final game of the season for the Turks, who finished eighth in the league, and potentially the last game for the club for Mahlangu, whose six-month contract comes to an end this month.
