Ledwaba and Ndou pick their winner

FEW boxers are better qualified to speak on how things could play out in Las Vegas on Sunday morning (SA time) than Lehlohonolo "Hands of Stone" Ledwaba and Phillip "Time Bomb" Ndou.

The two South Africans know exactly how it feels to be on the receiving end of punches from both superstars.

Ledwaba's reign as the IBF junior-featherweight champion was brought to an end by Pacquiao with a sixth-round stoppage in 2001, while Ndou was stopped in the seventh round by Mayweather in a fight for the WBC lightweight title in 2003.

LEDWABA: "I'm not picking Mayweather to win out of anger against Manny because he beat me. But we are looking at the class between the two boxers. Floyd wants, as he has done 47 times before, to prove to his detractors ... that the only man to beat Floyd will be Floyd himself.

"Some say he struggles against southpaws, but he makes up for that with his dangerous long right, the first punch against a left hander, which he smacks to the body to open up for left hooks. I don't see how Manny can pull this one off."

NDOU: "The fight might not even go the distance. I fought Floyd and I know he does not like pressure.

"I also saw him against a southpaw, he is not comfortable. Yes, I know Manny has been knocked out before, but Floyd does not have that power. Floyd picked Manny now because he thinks he is finished, but he is gonna get the surprise of his life.

"Floyd caught me good and I went down. I was not hurt. I was just exhausted because I had thrown too many punches in the first four rounds."
