Tokelo Rantie faces a huge new challenge in his career after his English Championship side Bournemouth virtually sealed their promotion to the Premier League.

Bournemouth moved three points clear of Middlesbrough in the final automatic qualification place with one round of matches to go following a 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers on Monday.

Although Boro could draw level on points, Bournemouth have a +19 goal difference over them, which is as good as an extra point.

Rantie can now live his dream of playing in one of Europe's top five leagues.

As things stand, he will be only the second, after Everton's Steven Pienaar, to currently play at that level, but now perhaps also faces an uncertain future.

Rantie struggled for game time in the Championship this season having been used off the bench when fit.

Bournemouth will have to make a serious investment in their squad to compete in the Premier League, and that leaves the question of whether a bench player in the second-tier will be used once they are playing week-in, week- out at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and The Emirates.

Rantie has yet to start a game for Bournemouth in the Championship this season, and his only goals came off the bench in an 8-0 demolition of Birmingham City in October. One of those was from the penalty spot.

But he is admired by fans for his attributes and gets great praise from coach Eddie Howe.

A great stage now awaits for him to show he does belong at that level.
