Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango says Orlando Pirates have got a very good chance of overcoming Uganda Revenue Authority in the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend.

But the Ugandan goalkeeper has warned Bucs that the pitch they are going to play on is not in good condition.

The Buccaneers, who take a 2-1 lead into the second-leg tie after conceding a late goal in the first-round first-leg tie at Orlando Stadium, meet Revenue Authority in the second leg at the Mandela National Stadium on Saturday (3pm kickoff), a pitch Onyango is very familiar with.

"It's going to be difficult for Pirates to play their normal game because the pitch is not in good shape. It has been raining for the last two days in that part of Uganda, so the pitch is not great," Onyango said.

"I think it might affect them a bit, but I think they can get a result."

A 1-0 victory for Revenue Authority would be enough to send them through to the next round of the competition, but it's easier said than done. The hosts are likely to attack more than they did in South Africa a couple of weeks ago, meaning they could open up in defence.

"Revenue are probably going to attack because they are desperate for a result, so that means they will open up at the back. Pirates can take advantage of that," Onyango said.

The former SuperSport United shot-stopper added: "They will not get a hostile reception there, so they do not need to be worried. Revenue is not an old team, but they have some good players in their team."

Pirates fly out to Uganda today and look set to leave without left-back Thabo Matlaba, who sustained a chest injury while on national team duty against Nigeria in Nelspruit on Sunday.

Matlaba will be assessed this morning and the team will make a final decision on wether to take him or not before they leave.
