Real Madrid has taken Mexican striker Javier Hernandez on loan for one season from Manchester United, the European champions said on Monday.
Hernandez, 26, is Real's fourth summer signing, after Keylor Mavas, Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez. In the Real squad he will take the place of young striker Alvaro Morata, who was sold to Juventus in July.
Hernandez will be competing for the centre-forward role with France striker Karim Benzema, who is in patchy form.
