POPULAR Indian fighter Ricardo Hiraman returns to the ring tomorrow night to try shake off his points defeat to Ayanda Nkosi at Emperors Palace on July 15.

The 25-year-old from Newlands West in Durban has promised to silence his critics when he takes on Bongumusa Ndwandwe over four rounds at SMD Ballito, north of Durban.

Their bout will form part of the box-and-dine tournament that will be staged by the White Buffalo Promotions of former dual heavyweight champion Francois Botha.

Hiraman, who recorded three straight wins in Kempton Park, where he made his professional debut on September 30 last year, said he did everything wrong against Nkosi.

"I never did the right thing and I was very disappointed with myself after that loss," said Hiraman yesterday. "People here in Durban who saw the fight said I was not the same and I was not moving. I was static. I had a bad day at the office but I am 100% back."

Hiraman, the only Indian currently boxing professionally in South Africa, will be fighting for the first time at home.

"There is no pressure but I've got to win in order to cement my place in the Christmas Cracker of Jeff Ellis at Emperors Palace in November," he said in reference of the annual year-ending development tournament.

Another fighter who will make his debut at home in Durban tomorrow night is Marcel Botha, Francois's son, who will take on Khumbulani Mdletshe in a super middleweight bout.

Botha, 25, made a positive entry to the professional ranks in June last year when he defeated Jeremy Sebastian on points over four rounds at the Trust Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand.

But he lost to William Bankisi on points on his return to SA, before outpointing Mthiyane Fulathela. Botha should have no difficulty against Mdletshe, who has not laced up boxing gloves since 2012.

Promoter Botha said there will be two amateur mixed martial arts fights as well as a celebrity bout between him and Darren "The Assassin" Maule of East Coast Radio. Maule is a seasoned stand-up comedian, actor and entertainer.
