BENEDICT "Tso" Vilakazi and Manqoba "Shakes" Ngwenya have ended their painful stint with Botswana side Notwane FC and joined Premiership clubs BMC and Township Rollers.

Vilakazi signed a one-year-deal with BMC, while Ngwenya penned a two-year contract with Rollers.

A fortnight ago, the duo threatened to leave Notwane after being thrown out of the hotel they were staying in due to unpaid bills. The former Mamelodi Sundowns pair had also gone for three months without being paid.

The Botswana Football Association released them from their five-year deals with Notwane after the club's owner failed to show up to address the crisis. BMC coach Daniel Nare assured former Bafana Bafana star Vilakazi that he would not face the same challenges he encountered at Notwane.

"It would be unfair for us to be judged based on what happened to him at Notwane. We are totally different from Notwane," Nare said.

BMC are owned by Indian business tycoon Esfandiar Ghodrati.

Nare said Vilakazi's arrival was a big boost for his youthful squad and he believed the diminutive linkman would bring stability to the team.

"We're in a transition as a club and Tso comes with a history of a colourful career both in South Africa and abroad, which boosts our brand as a club. He also has experience and has captained great clubs and we are a team that lacks leadership on the field. I needed somebody of that stature in this team."

Vilakazi started training with his new club last week.

Rollers, who are owned by millionaire Jagdish Shah, confirmed signing Ngwenya on a two-year deal.

But it is unclear whether he will play immediately as they have three foreign players on their books. Botswana teams are only allowed to register three foreigners.
