NDOLA, Zambia - BAFANA Bafana coach Gordon Igesund was eager to see Bevan Fransman arrive in Zambia yesterday to beef up the Cosafa Cup squad, but the defender has now pulled out of the team.

Bafana Bafana will now have to face hosts Zambia in tomorrow night's semifinal clash at the Levy Mwana- wasa Stadium without the experienced SuperSport United defender. Igesund said Fransman would not be turning up because of "personal problems".

Fransman was held back by his club to take part in their friendly against Manchester City at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday, and was scheduled to arrive in camp yesterday afternoon.

Igesund said he would be unable to replace Fransman because teams are not allowed to make changes to their squads after the quarterfinal stage.

"It's a big blow for us because Bevan knows how our team plays," said Igesund. "I was counting on him being here as [Tshepo] Gumede also got a knock. But now I have no choice but to field Gumede."
