"WAKE up and apologise for dreaming of beating me," Phillip "Time Bomb" Ndou has warned Pius "Mr Hercules" Dipheko, borrowing from Muhammad Ali.

Dipheko warned last week that faint-hearted fans should stay away from their fight at Nasrec Arena on Sunday afternoon because he would treat Ndou so cruelly.

The former champion was annoyed by Dipheko's bravado.

Ndou said yesterday: "My intension now is to destroy this Pius guy. Somebody must wake him up before I beat him up in his very dream."

Ndou said instead of being grateful for the opportunity of a lifetime to be in the ring with a celebrated boxer such as himself, Dipheko talked trash.

"What is Pius's claim to fame?" asked the former SA and WBA Intercontinental featherweight, and WBU and WBC International junior- lightweight champ from Thohoyandou.

"I remain the only pound-for- pound titlist throughout Africa."

Ndou has recorded 32 short-route wins in 34 victories. His defeats came against Anthony Campbell, Floyd Mayweather, Isaac Hlatshwayo and Lovemore Ndou.

"Team Time Bomb [Ndou, trainer Bernie Pailman and manager Promise Moyo] is ready for an explosion," he said of his eight-rounder with Dipheko that will top the bill of promoter Luvuyo Mngxaso.

Fight publicist Luvuyo Matsha said most of the undercard bouts will feature rising fighters.

"Our focus is on developing new talent," he said. "We will also have three female fights."
