Uzbeki freestyle wrestler Soslan Tigiev has been stripped of his 2012 Olympics bronze medal after testing positive for a banned substance, local media reported.

The Russian gazeta.ru website said that the samples given by Tigiev contained the banned drug methylhexanamine.

The 29-year-old Tigiev, who was born in the Russian republic of Ossetia, represented Uzbekistan at the Olympics in the 74kg category.

The Olympic bronze medal will now go to Hungarian wrestler Gabor Hatos, who Tigiev beat in the bout for third place.
