BAY United await their fate in the next few days after being found guilty of using a player under a false name, but in all likelihood will be relegated from the National First Division.

It will complete a heady descent for the club that was competing in the top flight just three years ago.

It is also a massive blow for owner Lerato Mogaladi, who bought the club last year and though she was not allowed to change its name, moved it from Port Elizabeth to Polokwane.

After more than two months, the Premier Soccer League found Bay United guilty on Monday night of using a player with a South African identity but who is, in fact, from Mozambique.

It followed a complaint from Dynamos, who were relegated in second-to-last position but will now be hoping that Bay United are docked points and will go down instead.
