Vardos aim to add fresh blood

FOLLOWING their failure to get promoted to the National First Division, Gauteng Vodacom League side Vardos FC have resolved to beef up the squad with fresh blood.

Club owner Sinki "Twalaza" Mnisi said they were able to identify their shortfalls during the Vodacom League National play-offs last week.

Mnisi said his charges played well during the play-offs but conceded their failure was caused by unforeseen circumstances.

"We felt that in order to contest for promotion next season we have to beef up our team with fresh blood who will be equal to the task. As a result we will hold trials next week for players aged from 17 years upwards," said Mnisi yesterday.

"What is more encouraging is that all our sponsors are still intact. We believe that failing is simply an opportunity to begin again, but this time around much wiser and more intelligent."

Mnisi said the trials will be held at the old Esselen Park School of Excellence in Kaalfontein on Saturday, July 21 at 9am and that players should bring their playing kits.

For more information on the trials contact coach Klaas Khanye on 084-403-1770.
