BOTTOM side Jomo Cosmos go into tonight's Absa Premiership match fully aware that dropping a single point against Black Leopards will send them back to the National First Division.
This relegation scrap takes place at Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton and kickoff is 7.30pm in the only midweek fixture, a result of Leopards' involvement in a CAF Confederation Cup game against Nigeria's Warri Wolves in Polokwane on Sunday.
Cosmos are bottom of the 16-team league with 18 points from 28 games, while Leopards are 14th with 25 points from the same number of outings. Santos, who have 24 points from 29 matches, are sandwiched between the two.
The teams played to a 1-1 draw in their first round match in Giyani Stadium.
There is no love lost between the two sides after their bosses David Thidiela (Leopards) and Jomo Sono (Cosmos) were involved in a public spat when they were still campaigning in the NFD last season.
An upbeat Sono said: "We are geared up for the game, it will be a hell of a tough match but I have no doubt Cosmos will prevail. In fact, we want to collect the six points from our two remaining games (they play their last fixture against Santos on Saturday)."
Leopards chairman Thidiela said: "We have raised the hopes of our supporters by beating Warri Wolves from Nigeria 2-0 in Polokwane last weekend, we have to sustain the winning momentum."
The visitors will look to Kingston Nkatha to get the job done up front after the Zimbabwean sent Wolves out of the continental competition with two brilliant goals on Sunday.
