FORMER Olympic swimmer Princess Charlene of Monaco is helping the South African team prepare for the 2012 London Games.

A Swimming SA official told AFP yesterday that the squad will spend two weeks in July in the principality preparing for the Games.

The princess will provide accommodation, food and facilities for the South Africans, whose best medal hopes are Cameron van der Burgh (breaststroke) and Chad le Clos (butterfly and individual medley).

The princess was part of the South African 4x100m medley relay team that finished fifth at the 2000 Sydney Games.
