ENZENWA Otorugo only has two more days to impress the coaching staff at Bloemfontein Celtic, where the burly Nigerian striker hopes to secure a contract.

Otorugo is hoping to sign for the Free State club before Sunday's Absa Premiership match against Free State Stars at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium. Kickoff is at 3.30pm.

Otorugo was released by Orlando Pirates last month, and has been training with Phunya SeleSele for almost two weeks. He scored in Celtic' 2-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in the Macufe Cup on Sunday.

"We are still assessing him and I will decide on Friday whether we sign him or not," said Celtic coach Clinton Larsen, who is happy with their preparations for the Free State derby against Ea Lla Koto.

"Every game is important and for me the derby is like any other game. When you play in a derby against Stars you get a point for a draw and three points for a win, nothing more. It is the same number of points when you draw or beat Black Leopards and this is the kind of mentality I have been instilling among my players.

"We have to redouble our efforts in all the games and I'm confident we will do well on Sunday."

A source close to the club said: "The Nigerian has been doing well and we expect Clinton to sign him. Otorugo really endeared himself to the coach and supporters with the goal against Chiefs."
