Dynamos set to rescue Vilakazi

UNEMPLOYED : Benedict 'Tso' Vilakazi

NATIONAL First Division side Dynamos are expected to throw former Bafana Bafana star Benedict "Tso" Vilakazi a lifeline by signing him this week.

Sowetan has reliably learnt that the Limpopo outfit, owned by businessman Pat Malabela, are hoping to agree terms with the unemployed Vilakazi.

"I have been a fan of Tso for a very long time and I strongly believe he will add value to Dynamos," Malabela said yesterday.

"I was very touched when I read about Tso's plight. He said he was even prepared to play in the National First Division."

The expected capture of Vilakazi comes after Dynamos completed the signing of Reuben Letsholonyane, the younger brother of Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs star midfielder Reneilwe.

"It is true that we have signed Reuben on loan from Chiefs' development and he is a great player that we believe will help us gain promotion to the Premiership," Malabela said.

Reuben, who also plays in midfield, is expected to make his debut for the Dynamites when they host Thanda Royal Zulu at Giyani Stadium tonight. His former coach at Chiefs, Ntsie Maphike, said: "I worked with Reuben for two years and he is a big fighter and talented youngster."

Today's fixtures are:

Ackerville: Witbank Spurs vs University of Pretoria (3pm), Eldorado Park: FC AK vs Sivutsa Stars (3pm); Seshego: Bay United vs FC Cape Town (3pm); Giyani: Dynamos vs Royal (7.30pm); East London: Blackburn Rovers vs Vasco da Gama (7.30pm; Charles Mopeli: African Warriors vs Atlie FC (7.30pm); Kimberley: United FC vs Carara Kicks (7.30pm) and Phillipi: Chippa United vs Black Aces (7.30pm).
