Shabba loses out - Will not skipper Bafana

Safa agrees to release Kaizer Chiefs trio

Contrary to Bafana Bafana media officer Matlhomola Morake’s comments on Wednesday, the three Kaizer Chiefs players in the national squad for their away game against Tanzania on Saturday will now be released from the training camp following a request from club.

The South African Football Association  (Safa) announced the decision in a statement after earlier reports that Itumeleng Khune,  Siphiwe 'Shabba' Tshabalala and Reneilwe Letsholonyane would not be available for Chiefs.

Shabba had been named as captain for the match, prior to the dispute.

The team departs for Tanzania on Thursday.
