First Division is tough: Bamuza

JOMO Cosmos star midfielder Bamuza "Scara" Sono believes it is still too early to start celebrating their success in the National First Division.

Ezenkosi are topping the Inland Stream log with 19 points from nine matches, with University of Pretoria hot on their heels with 18 points from the same number of games.

Jomo Sono's babes are hoping to maintain their winning rhythm by beating United FC in their own backyard in Kimberley on Saturday.

"We are excited that everything is falling into place for us. For us the most important thing is to remain focused on the job at hand, which is to win matches," said Sono junior.

"We need to sustain the position so that we realise our dream of returning to the Premiership. It's tough here because almost every game is like a cup final.

"The standard of the game is very high and no wonder some of the teams in the National First Division embarrass those in the Premiership when we meet."

Sono, goalkeeper Avril Phali, Koena Mathopa, Bongani Theletsane and Lucky Mhlathe remained with Cosmos when they were relegated to the First Division.

Cosmos have also roped in Bamuza's younger brother, Matsilele junior, who used to play cricket.
