PREPARATIONS for the national Under-17 women's soccer team are on track with the World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago just two months away.
Team manager Fran Hilton-Smith revealed that they have secured an important away friendly against England on August 18 and 19.
England are always a force to be reckoned with and were fourth in the last instalment of this tournament, which was won by North Korea in New Zealand two years ago.
Meanwhile, the Uefa representatives have finally been decided, with Northern Ireland finishing a shocking first ahead of Spain and Germany.
As a result, the Germans were placed in Group B with South Africa, Mexico and South Korea completing the group.
Coach Solly Luvhengo was upbeat about the England trip yesterday, relishing the idea of giving his team some much-needed international experience before the big one.
"They need to interact with a European way of play. We have played only African teams so far, and none of the girls have actually been to Europe before. We do not want any surprises at the World Cup and this way we take away the surprise factor," Luvhengo said.
