Twitter has gone into overdrive after hearing about Beyoncé and Jay-Z's upcoming performance on 2 December at the FNB stadium as part of the Global Citizen Festival.

Tickets to the international initiative will be given based on charity and giving back to the community.

Tweeps have responded, as expected, with great excitement, taking to the social media site to express their gratitude at finally getting a piece of the mega couple.

Although many are enamoured with the thought of the Carters coming to eMzansi, some aren’t so pleased and feel like the country has bigger things to focus on. Sigh.  Needless to say the Beehive was not happy with any criticism of their queen.

The Carters won’t be the only big name outfit as other artists include among others, Ed Sheeran, D’banj, Wizkid and Pharrell.

The queen of talk Oprah Winfrey will present the keynote speech.  Sounds like a great way to open up December to us and we’re excited to see what else is lined up for the big days!
