May I humbly suggest that the health facilities at the Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital in Ga-Rankuwa be given urgent attention.

In December when we were waiting to be given our prescribed chronic medication, heavy rain fell and water started gushing from all over the waiting halls of the pharmacy section.

The outpatients were severely inconvenienced. The horrendous situation must be addressed via urgent renovation project because more heavy rains are expected throughout January until end of February.

Let unemployed youth take up the renovation and waterproofing jobs under the supervision of  technicians. Imagine if there were tourists visiting at Dr Mukhari during that rainy day, and got drenched, thanks to leaky roofs at one of our biggest academic hospitals.

That could have left a negative impression on our health facilities. I hope what is happening in outpatient facilities is not replicated in the admitted patients' wards!
