We live among abuse enablers

Stop violence against women.
Stop violence against women.

Reading Phakamani Dlamini's post [on Facebook] on Mampintsha's abuse of Babes Wodumo, I got cold.

Men like him are walking among us. I was hoping people like him, with ancient beliefs, didn't exist.

For him, the only person who can be unfaithful is female. He sounds like someone who still believe women can't think for themselves.

Men like him are the reason we have shocking statistics of domestic abuse in SA.

Personally, I feel Babes should never have gone back to Mampintsha when she was abused the last time.

I hope Dlamini wasn't thinking in a traditional way where a man is allowed to have as many women as he likes, but women aren't allowed the same privilege. I don't know how he came to that conclusion because both were accusing each other of cheating.

If anything, this unfortunate incident has confirmed that abusers seldom get rehabilitated. It's a lesson for other lovers who are giving their abusive partners "second chance".

As far as I'm concerned, Mampintsha should be serving a sentence for the last incident. I hope Babes doesn't withdraw charges.
