Open-handed Motsepe is a blessing to the poorest of the poor of this country

I am writing this letter after considering a possible backlash, but I feel obliged to express my opinion as a citizen of this country.

I love EFF leader Julius Malema because he is the son of our soil. I love him because he is bold and remains one of the best orators of our times.

I love mining magnate Patrice Motsepe equally because he is always willing to share his millions with the poor masses of our country.

The other day I heard a colleague saying Motsepe is now sponsoring a number of churches in Soweto.

I have also heard amazing stories from my own home province (Northern Cape) about the open-handed Motsepe Foundation.

As a football fanatic, I can see how Motsepe's open hand is touching the lives of poor, young boys playing in the ABC Motsepe League and the Kay Motsepe Cup. I am even tempted to mention his generosity by promoting a number of South African footballers who played at his club, Mamelodi Sundowns, and are now plying their trade overseas.

Most of them are millionaires today.

I am not saying Motsepe is beyond reproach. What I am saying is that if his act of kindness is construed as showing off, then let him continue with his show off because that will mean a lot to poor who happen to be Malema's core constituency.

Long live Patrice Motsepe long live!

Adam Visser, Upington
