The letter by Richardson Mzaidume (Hard to understand the reasoning behind mixing religion with politics, Sowetan, July 27 2018) made for some interesting reading. Allow me to humbly contribute to this topic.
The truth is that one cannot be a practising Christian and a politician. The teachings of Christ were there to save the world from sin and spiritual death. People such as Reverend Kenneth Meshoe of the African Christian Democratic Party are representing their church jackets.
Christians derive their mandate from the Bible and the Lord and not some political congress or structure.
