Femicide is at its peak and, as women, we must be looking out for each other by building support systems instead of adding salt to the injury.
It is one thing for a parent to lose a child as a result of unnecessary killing by an ignorant man, but it is worse if a another woman is the cause of death.
Lawlessness in our country is granting a stamp of approval to those who want to cause grief to others without any worry of consequences. Perhaps it is time we go back to basics and teach our children Ubuntu and Christian values.
Murderers must take responsibility

The level of malice in this country is proof that our nation lacks a moral fibre. The actions of these two women is evil; they have robbed another human being of their right to life. The deceased's parents also have been deprived of the joy of witnessing their child growing into being a woman, and all other things that come with the joys of womanhood.
No amount of justice can heal the grieving family, however, the perpetrators should take responsibility for their heinous crime.
It is time that people stop putting the blame on alcohol and drugs and to start taking the responsibility of their evil deeds. Perhaps it's also time that our justice system took a firm stance and impose jail sentences that will serve as a warning to other would-be perpetrators of such crimes.
