The mining sector is proving to be one of the most dangerous sectors in the country. Workers go to work without knowing if they will see their families again. This must be a tough experience.

Three bodies at Lily Mine in Mpumalanga are still trapped underground, more than two years after the tragedy. A few weeks ago miners at Sibanye-Stillwater and now six Palabora Mining Company workers in Limpopo, perished.

Mining houses are only interested in profit and don't care about workers' safety because they don't suffer any consequences for being negligent. The state must punish these companies.
