Distrust due to lack of liability
Only two in five South Africans trust President Cyril Ramaphosa. More than two thirds of us have little or no trust at all in parliament, police and our local councils. Only a quarter of us trust the ANC or other opposition parties.
This is according to the Afrobarometer survey, which measures trust in public institutions. The barometer, published in 2021, notes that public trust in institutions has particularly declined in the last decade. ..
