Msengana worst Idols judge ever

I REFER to the article "Dave van Vuuren steals the show" in Sowetan of August 8.

Taking musical diva Mara Louw's seat on South African Idols was already a tough task.

The fact is, amateurish Unathi Msengana, pictured, was the worst Idols judge ever. Her awful judging didn't feel right for discovering or nurturing new talent.

She replaced Louw though there are wonderful judges such as jazz lady Shado Twala and Metro FM' s Azania Mosaka.

I would like to know how the judges are chosen. I know they have to be a bit controversial, but Msengana hasn't got it.

She's boring as a singer. She certainly does not have any musical talent. She irritates viewers when she laughs stupidly at contestants and she hasn't any brilliant music knowledge. How she got a job on Metro FM is beyond me.

South Africa needs black pop idols but I don't see how this judge will help black talent win the title because the show sells black musicians outside the cut-throat music industry.
