Japan sadness

OUR hearts go out to the Japanese after an earthquake and tsunami rocked their land on Friday.

The death toll is expected to rise, with thousands more missing.

Man has been to the moon and has taken over every inch of the universe - he is in control.

Even whales, lions and elephants are kept in check, while the dinosaur has long been taken care of - or so it seems.

We are indeed trying to conquer the world and all around it.

Makes you wonder why technology cannot stop natural tragedies or minimise their deadly impact.

We are not talking about mythical tokoloshes and other stereotypes here. They remain folkore.

The reality in Japan and other uncontrollable disasters are, unfortunately, part of our lives.

They remind us that the supernatural power is for real.
