They should not turn the world into image of doom

I'M NO angel to guarantee the God-fearing a straight flight into heaven nor a devil's ambassador to make hopeless sinners look forward to a journey of reducing themselves into ashes in the high temperatures that burn in the fires in hell.

But deep in my heart there nevertheless resides a religion that those that build their happiness on the sadness of others are an offensive curse to all that was intended by God's creation.

Like weed that is an eyesore in the garden, that which is bad and unintended in creation must not be allowed the foundation for growth. It must be done away with, root and branch.

If oppression presented a cause to fight against, for offering freedom to some and not to others before 1994, it is culpable vagrancy to give up the fight when cruelty returns dressed in robes of faces once acclaimed to be that of freedom fighters.

Is it not old and good time religion that reminds us that God helps those that dare to free themselves from the stranglehold of the oppressors?

When liberators behave nothing less than monkeys that can shamelessly mimic what they saw done by former oppressors, every drop of blood that watered the tree of freedom would be as vain as pearls to swine.

To turn things around, for the future of its children to be bright, South Africa needs visionaries capable of producing "new beings" out of its citizens in order to create a true and common humanity committed to the everlasting singularity of a nation that lives and endures beyond the final whistle of the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

If the National Party government, and others before it, was culpable of creating an unequal society of master and servant relationships out of black and white people, South Africa now needs liberation capable of producing a society of "new beings" that can enter into unpretentious mutual relationships of equals.

The unfolding story of our country and our lives reveals that both blacks and whites are capable of corrupting the system and being corrupt. Great expectations, though, are that as the major component of post-liberation reconstruction, blacks carried a greater responsibility to inaugurate a higher morality.

Having been the authors of black oppression and misery, whites, as a group, were least expected to be the architects of a re-humanising and higher morality that can successfully unscramble and negate the very super and subordinate relationships they were initially responsible for installing.

Not that there were no conscientious objectors within the white community to whom the general paint of oppression should carefully not spill.

Undeniably, there were a few good whites as were a few bad blacks. It is not the exception to the rule that fundamentally alters the course of history but a distinctive force that has nothing to lose in order to honour its appointment with history.

Blacks were such a force. And upon them the course of history chiefly depended.

For the course of history to forever change for the better, no soul should find happiness in inflicting pain in the lives of other fellow beings as though irritating mosquitoes that would not live without sucking the blood of the innocent.

To go into heaven, it does no one any good to remain unperturbed by the state of misery that afflicts the world as though that was God's intention.

Those who have resigned themselves to burn in hell should not be afforded the licence to turn our world into a mirror image of their hopeless doom.
