One skydiver is dead and another injured after the two collided in midair Tuesday afternoon in northern California, according to media reports.
The accident occurred around 1:30 pm (2130 GMT) at the Parachute Center in Acampo about 66 kilometres south of Sacramento, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
One skydiver landed only suffering minor leg injuries while the body of the second skydiver was found nearby, Deputy Les Garcia of the San Joaquin Sheriff's Department told the paper. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the accident.
