No more 'sexy time' for Kazakhstan women after lingerie ban

Lace underwear will no longer be seen on women in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan after the Eurasian Union proposed a ban on lace underwear.

The new law coming into effect in July will outlaw any underwear containing less than 6% cotton from being imported, made, or sold in these countries.

According to the Telegraph, the ban is aimed at protecting consumers from cheap materials (non-natural material that does not meet a 6 per cent absorption threshold) which could have a negative impact on their health.

The theguardian.com reported that on Sunday, 30 women protesters in Kazakhstan were arrested while wearing lace underwear on their heads and shouting “Freedom to panties!”
