Teachers swindled by fake companies over SACE registration

Several teachers who were trying to register with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) have been scammed by bogus companies which promised to help them become members of the council. SACE is the statutory body responsible for regulating the teaching profession. Three Gauteng teachers who recently graduated with bachelors of education degrees told Sowetan they had fallen for the scam after SACE took too long to respond to their applications to be members of the council.
