A 50-year-old man was found dead with gunshot wounds in the office of a Durban factory on Friday.

Paramedics and private security officers responded to a report of a shooting in the Park Hill area‚ north of the city after 5pm.

Crisis Medical spokesman Kyle van Reenen said a man‚ aged about 50‚ was found lying on the floor of an office on the factory premises.

"The man was found to have sustained fatal gunshot wounds to his head and chest and declared deceased on arrival."

Van Reenen said the motive for killing was unknown.

"The scene was secured and handed over to the police for further investigation."
