A fire at a guesthouse in Rosebank, Cape Town, has been contained, the city's fire and rescue services said.

The fire broke out at around 6.05am on Sunday.

Six fire-fighting trucks with 24 firefighters battled the blaze.

All occupants at the guesthouse were accounted for and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was still unknown.
