A man who allegedly stabbed his former girlfriend to death on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and robbery in the Polokwane High Court.

State alleges that Cuthbert Manamela, 32, on October 23 2017 robbed Lebogang Lamola of her cellphone and house keys. The state further alleges that Manamela went to Lamola's house and stabbed her to death.

The court also heard that Lamola had obtained a protection order against Manamela. The high court was filled to capacity with Seshego residents demanding justice for Lamola.

The trial continues.
