Suspect in Khwinana's death remanded in custody for further investigations
The matter against a 36-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of Matwetwe actor Sibusiso Khwinana was on Monday postponed to May 17 for further investigations.
The accused, who cannot be named because he is yet to undergo an identity parade, appeared briefly in the Pretoria magistrate's court on charges of murder, contravention of the Immigration Act and robbery.
Khwinana was stabbed to death and his cellphone stolen during an armed robbery at the start of the month in Pretoria. Police minister Bheki Cele announced on Saturday during his funeral at the AFM Hilltop Restoration Centre in Soshanguve that a suspect had been arrested.
National police commissioner Khehla Sitole said: "I am satisfied with the progress made in the investigation of Mr Khwinana's murder. However, I am aware that other suspects are outstanding and I have tasked the investigation team to ensure that they are apprehended."
