Social Media reacts to Mampintsha's side of the story
Social media had mixed reactions to what many have called a theatrical performance by Gqom artist Mandla Mampintsha Maphumulo after he gave his account of what happened on the night he allegedly assaulted Bongekile Simelane who is known as Babes Wodumo.
Many social media users remained supportive of the wololo hit maker who is still reportedly recovering from the incident.
Yes, we also see a non-limping, bruise and injury free #Mampintsha who is quite capable of subduing her with his violence. We see a Babes who isn't carrying induku. Very contrary to his story.— You-Feh-Fella (Uphephela) (@UnmovedLee) March 5, 2019
His talking crap in my thinking. He's playing victim and it's going to backfire
Who ever that adviced him on this one is theatrical. We will wait to see how the story unfolds. Was the injury before or after the incident? The egg and chicken story— Dr. Sticks_mc_sa🇿🇦 (@LehlokoaMC) March 5, 2019
However some social media users seemed to believe Mampintsha’s side of events.
Why can't everyone face the truth...#BabesWodumo insulted #Mampitsha ...So if u were #Mampintsha what would u do after a women call you so called " Masimba" so this tells us that #BabesWodumo 's parents did not raise #Bongekile the right of respect as a husband to her..#rights— Milton Mnisi (@MiltonMnisi14) March 5, 2019
Durban musician Mandla Maphumulo, popularly known as Mampintsha, appeared briefly in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court on Tuesday March 5 2019.
