A 66-year-old father has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed his son to death following a fight between the two.

Sbusiso Skosana was killed at the home he shared with his father in Duduza, on the East Rand, on Monday at about 4.30am.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka said the father claimed that his son disrespected him.

"They lived together at the same house. The suspect, who is the [deceased's] father, alleged that his son was disrespecting him and had attacked him. They then fought and he stabbed the deceased," Manaka said.

Manaka said Skosana was then rushed to Pholosong Hospital in Tsakane in an ambulance where he died on arrival.
