While most South Africans supported Babes Wodumo yesterday, some resorted to blaming her for the abuse received at the hands of her boyfriend.

One Facebook user, Phakamani Dlamini, a clear supporter of Mampintsha, wrote a few posts under the hashtag #HandsOffMampintsha questioning Babes.

One post read: "Those who against Mampintsha.... ilamadoda afaka ama-pads. Afuna sijwayelwe ngabafazi....!!!" (those against Mampintsha are men who wear sanitary pads. They want us to be disrespected by women).

Another one read: "He is in abusive relationship... kunzima ukufetshwelwa wumfazi bese eyadelela futhi enjalo... (It is hard dealing with an unfaithful woman who is also disrespectful).

As if that was not bad enough, Dlamini also wrote: "The motives for Babes Wodumo for taking these live videos of Mampintsha is not known. I am failing to understand why Babes Wodumo does not leave or divorce Mampintsha if she is not happy in that relationship.

"She is seeking public sympathy at the expense of Mampintsha and that is witchcraft with an intention to destroy Mampintsha's career."

In response to a tweet by EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi calling for Mampintsha's arrest, @NtuthukoMaphum5 tweeted: "U didn't see the need to analyze the situation and get to the bottom of this, try and understand what happened, why it happened when it happened and where it happened?? All u could say was "arrest Mampintsha"?? So unlike u."

@ward_shane said: "The abused also needs to admit there's a problem as first step to getting the hell out, contract or not. until she values her own life it remains her responsibility... harsh but like addiction the addict must be the one to ask for help otherwise their denial keeps them in the cycle." - Kgothatso Madisa
