Surging DA support in Durban

The Democratic Alliance has doubled its support in Durban’s eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality — so far.

As at 07:49pm on Thursday‚ the African National Congress was leading with 46.78%‚ the DA followed with 39.58% and the Economic Freedom Fighters were lagging behind with 2.83%.

In 2011 the DA received support of 21.02%‚ which means it has now grown by 18.56%.

On the current count‚ the ANC is down by 14.29% compared to 2011’s 61.07%.

IFP promises good governance in municipalities under its control

Only 69% of the City’s votes have been counted.

So far‚ 598 of 866 voting districts have been completed‚ 23 of 110 wards have been completed‚ 0 of 1 municipality have been completed and 23 of 219 seats have been allocated.
